R2D2-MH Glossary: language guide for neurodiversity research
We are pleased to share with you the language guide for researchers involved in the field of neurodiversity. The document was developed by R2D2-MH adult and adolescent cocreation members, as part of Work-Package 3.
The guide has been designed to help researchers reflect on their language use when writing scientific papers, particularly in the context of neurodiversity.
It aims to encourage the use of terminology that is both scientifically accurate and ethically justifiable, avoiding language that may be perceived as offensive or harmful by neurodivergent individuals.
The goal is not to police words or restrict research, but to promote thoughtful communication that aligns with the intention to help and support neurodivergent people.
The R2D2-MH language guide for neurodiversity-research is a living document. We look forward to receiving your feedback, thoughts and suggestions.
